Pilates based therapeutic
exercise
is an effective method in the treatment of individuals with any
musculoskeletal injury or disorder. Pilates targets the whole
body, correcting muscle asymmetries and weaknesses, which are
often the cause of pain. Pilates aides in the recovery and prevention
of injury and restores the body back to working balance, ultimately
optimizing an individual’s quality of life. The exercises
are tailored to each individual, and goals are established to
meet specific rehabilitation needs. At Center Flow Pilates, we
will evaluate your posture, strength, movement, alignment, and
body mechanics to understand the nature of your injury, pain,
and dysfunction. We use a combination of Pilates exercises and
therapeutic approaches in creating individualized exercise programs.
Our goal is to alleviate pain, increase range of motion, enhance
joint stability, maintain healthy movement patterns, and correct
abnormal postural habits to balance and strengthen muscles, thus
improving overall function for daily living. Pilates taught at
Center Flow is a personal training service, not a Physical and/or
Occupational Therapy service. It is recommended that all individuals
with an injury or disorder first be seen by a physician and a
Physical and/or Occupational therapist before engaging in an
exercise program at Center Flow Pilates, Inc.
